Her academic background, combined with her robust internship experience, provides her with a deep understanding of the market and industry, enhancing her expertise and strong character in the field.
Ellie was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina but now currently resides in the Southend area of Charlotte.

David joined Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services (TCRES) in 2024 as an Analyst. Being a Charlotte native, David has been able to leverage his extensive knowledge of the market. His focus is finding and underwriting creative investment opportunities for the Thrift Capital team, as well as providing brokerage services. Prior to joining TCRES, David attended Auburn University where he studied Finance with a specialization in Real Estate.
David lives in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood where he enjoys staying active through golf, basketball, and tennis, as well as backpacking and fishing.
David is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina.
Business History
Matt joined Thrift CRES in 2023 as a partner of Thrift Capital, a division focused on value-add and adaptive reuse real estate acquisition projects in the Carolinas.
Prior to joining Thrift CRES, Matt was a serial entrepreneur, having co-founded several successful startups in services industries ranging from managed services to pest control. He brings years of sales, marketing, and operational experience to the Thrift CRES team and has invested in many retail commercial real estate projects throughout the southeastern United States.
Matt currently lives in Charlotte with his wife Tara. They have a daughter in high school and another daughter in college

Katie joined Thrift in 2023 as the Marketing and Brokerage Coordinator on the Office Team. She brings experience in strategic marketing, specifically within in the Charlotte office market.
Prior to joining Thrift, Katie spent over 3 years as the Marketing Manager at Harker, a commercial interiors construction firm, where she focused on new pursuits. She has the unique lens of a background in construction and an understanding of an adjacent aspect of the business.
With strong ties to the Charlotte area, Katie is passionate about the sustainable growth of the city and pursuing real estate solutions that satisfy the needs of the client as well as the city.
Katie was born and raised in Davidson, NC, and now resides in Charlotte with her husband, John Hardin.
Jamie joins Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services as the accounting and finance manager. She leads all
financial management of our brokerage deals with clients and vendors and provides all in house
accounting functions.
Jamie is a University of Georgia graduate and has an extensive background in audit, tax, financial
statement preparation, management, and analysis. She has been a licensed CPA for over 30 years.
Business History
Charles started Thrift CRES in 2016 to provide owners a premium experience in evaluating their real estate needs, whether it be a new development, a redevelopment or a difficult land acquisition.
Over the past 25 years, Charles has worked in a number of roles in Charlotte firms, all of which included some form of leasing. Charles takes great pride in providing landlord’s and developers superior service, deep market knowledge, all with an owner’s mentality. Understanding how to make a deal that works for both parties.
Charles worked in retail leasing and brokerage with Collett, Crosland and Aston Properties where he was responsible for leasing a multitude of projects for an array of partners and third party owners. The projects were across the southeast and enabled him to create a significant broker network that he uses today.
Charles is a Charlotte native and continues to live in the city he loves with wife, Lauren. Their two boys are now in college, and they spend as much time as they can trying to hang out with them!
Charles is a licensed broker in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Lucy joined Thrift Commercial in 2019, specializing in retail agency leasing and tenant representation for the Carolinas market. Her focus includes specialty retail and lifestyle concepts, high-end food and beverage, and luxury service operators. She has a passion for identifying emerging brands and thoughtfully merchandising her properties.
She serves as an advocate for her clients in the identifying, negotiating, and completion of new stores, relocations, renewals, and expansions. She is responsible for the overall development and execution of leasing strategies to maximize each client and property’s full potential.
Prior to joining Thrift Commercial, Lucy spent over four years on the retail brokerage team at JLL in Charlotte. Previous experience includes marketing for the Charlotte based multifamily architecture firm, Axiom Architecture.
Lucy is a native of Montgomery, Alabama but now calls Charlotte home where she resides with her husband, Alex, and children, Knox and Annie.
Lucy is a licensed Real Estate Broker in NC and SC.

Lucy joined Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services in 2017 as Marketing Director and is responsible for preparing and distributing marketing materials/packages including property flyers, maps, tour books, and other related materials, and assisting brokers. In addition to handling the marketing for Thrift, Lucy is also a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina.
Prior to joining Thrift, Lucy spent over five years in the customer service and retail industry. She is a native to Winston-Salem, but currently resides in Charlotte, NC.

Jay joined Thrift CRES in 2017 to focus on project leasing and purchase and sale brokerage activities for several local owners and developers. Previously he worked at Cushman & Wakefield.
Since entering the industry Jay has served in many roles. He has handled adaptive reuse leasing, activated the ground floor of mixed use developments, handled portfolio leasing for family offices, sold unique infill assets, and helped his clients acquire new opportunities for development.
As a Charlotte native, Jay has become a valuable resource for clients with his extensive knowledge and understanding of the area and local market. He is passionate about improving the areas he grew up visiting and playing a small part of the many evolving submarkets in our city.
Jay currently lives in the Elizabeth neighborhood with his wife, Lacey.
